4X - Team 4X100AI will participate in the IOTA Contest (24-25 July) from
the Achziv Islands (AS-100). Outside the contest they will be QRV
on FT8 and QO-100 satellite. QSL via LoTW, or direct to 4X6ZM. [TNX

C6 - The 14-21 July C6AHA operation from the Bimini Islands (NA-048)
[425DXN 1569] has been postponed until sometime in October.
HL - DS3BBC and others will be active as D70EXPO from Pukkyongnyolbi
Island (AS-080) on 22-25 July. They will be QRV on 80-6 metres, and
will participate in the IOTA Contest. QSL via LoTW, or via DS3BBC;
the log will be uploaded to Club Log.
JA - Ichy, JH7IPR will be active from Tokunoshima, Amami Islands (AS-
023) from around 5 UTC on 2 July until around 5 UTC on 7 July. He
will be QRV on 80-6 metres as either JH7IPR/6 (CW, RTTY, SSB) and
JH7IPR/p (other digital modes such as FT4 and FT8). The logs will
be uploaded to Club Log. Ichy's latest IOTA operations were from
the Koshikijima Islands (AS-037) in April, Yakushima and Tanega-
shima (AS-032) in May, Iki and Tsushima (AS-036) in June.
JA - The following HQ stations representing JARL will be active from
various regions of Japan for the IARU HF World Championship:

13 July. He will operate mainly CW with a focus on the IARU HF

SP - Special callsign SN88LOT will be active from 1 July to 31 August to
commemorate the 88h anniversary of the ill fated flight of Lithuan-
ian pilots Steponas Darius and Stasys Girenas. On 15 July 1933 they
attempted a nonstop flight from New York City to Kaunas in a small
airplane named "Lituanica". After crossing the Atlantic Ocean, they
crashed on 17 July when thy were only 650km short of their final
destination. QSL via SP1PMY.
UA - Oleg UA1O (ZS1ANF), Alexei RN1ON, Yuri UA1OC and Alex UA1OJL will
be active as RI1OZ from Zhizhginskiy Island (EU-153) on 4-10 July.
They will operate CW, SSB and FT8/FT4 on 80-10 metres. QSL via Club
Log's OQRS, or via RN1ON. They also plan to be QRV from a couple of
other nearby islands and/or lighthouses as RK1O/p (QSL via RN1ON).

UA0 - A team of six (R9YU, RA3DS, RA9Y, RN5A, RX3AMI and UA3A) will be
active as RI0FM from Moneron Island (AS-149) on 15-31 July, IOTA
Contest included. Plans are to operate CW, SSB and FT8 on various

KIRIBATI: UPCOMING CHARTER SERVICE ---> "Chuck, T32NCC is working to acquire
a 65 ft power boat capable to allow him to offer charters to any of the
islands of Kiribati, including all of the Southern Line, Pheonix and Banaba.
His goal is to offer transportation services to local scientists, radio
amateur expeditions, sport fishing and diving enthusiasts starting early
2022. The boat will be able to accommodate up to 12 passengers and cargo, in
addition to the crew, at an average cruising speed of 15-20 knots under 2.5m
ocean swell. Chuck will be able to charter from international airports in
Kiribati and Samoa, and will provide hospitality support ashore". Chuck can

ITU and IARU, stations using the United Nations prefix (4U), Antarctic bases

THE SLOW MORSE CLUB ---> Special callsigns EI1SMC (operated by John, EI3HQB
and Keith, EI5KJ), GB1SMC (operated by Ray, G0OKR) and TM1SMC (operated by
Jeff, F4IIQ) will be used on 17-25 July to celebrate the first anniversary
of The Slow Morse Club. QSLs via F4IIQ. SMC is a Facebook group with around
1800 members worldwide. "Our informal group encourages new operators, begin-
ners, returnees and SWLs to join us, also those of us who enjoy code at a
more relaxing pace. Usually there is a slow Morse session every weekend on

+ SILENT KEY + Faisal Al-Ajmi, 9K2RR passed away on 2 July "following a pro-
longed period of hospitalisation with COVID". He had been "IARU Region 1
Vice President since the 2014 General Conference and was an energetic and
active supporter of amateur radio in the Arab world and globally. He was
also an accomplished and successful contester. He represented IARU in the
Arab Spectrum Management Group meetings and had attended ITU World Radio
