At the request of the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU)
and the Red Chilena Nor Austral Servicio (RECNA), all Amateurs
are requested to keep all IARU Center of Activity Frequencies
clear until further notice as health and welfare traffic is being
passed to and from Chile.
As well, the RECNA requests that they're call frequencies be avoided.

FRANCE:

The Xynthia storm which devastated most of France and especially in the Vendée and Charente Maritime areas made more than 55 deaths. Some other people are still missing.
As we know, French Ham community suffered only material damages.
One of these hams, Frank, F4DTO and his father F4FGE say their homes were flooded under more than 1.50m of salt water. They have lost their cars and the most part of the furniture, included ham radio gear.
